PROJECT SUMMARY

The proposed project is to construct a world-class cigarette factory on 26.2 hectares of land at Oluyole, Ibadan, to produce high quality cigarettes utilizing modern technology with state of the art control systems. The factory will comprise the following elements:-

• Primary manufacturing department (PMD)

• Secondary manufacturing department (SMD)

• Wastewater treatment plant.

• Amenities building (canteen and ablution block).

• Factory offices, Tobacco storage, Finished goods store and Cut tobacco store

• Housing compound, Utilities building

The scope of the EIA conducted by EEMS Limited covered the following areas:

• Environmental baseline studies

• Socio-economic studies

• Social/cultural impact assessment

• Environmental impact assessment

• Impact mitigation

• Environmental management plan
